Golf in Hong Kong

Golf in Hong Kong

Hello, and welcome to Golf in Hong Kong! We would also like to say, 歡迎體驗香港高爾夫球場

Heading out with only our backpacks and golf bags, we began the Asia segment of our worldwide golf journey with a one-way flight from Germany to Hong Kong. We have been to Hong Kong a few times in the past and really love the city. But we had never played Golf in Hong Kong. This is why we thought that this familiar city would be the ideal destination to begin our golfing adventures.

If you have been to this fantastic city before, then you know that it might not be the easiest place to carry around golf clubs. We wanted to rely solely on public transportation as much as possible. That meant that we had to carry our golf bags through the congested city streets, and onto crowded buses and MTR stations. “Please mind the gap!”

Let’s Go Play Golf in HK!

We hadn’t much time, or weather, for practice recently, so we joined our friends at the South China Athletic Association. Dubbed “The World’s Biggest Indoor Golf Club”, we had to become members of SCAA just to hit balls. Lucky for us, tourists get a good discount.

Our first golf opportunity was truly an honor and one that we will never forget! The Shek O Country Club is the most unique 18 holes of golf we have ever played in our lives! And trust us, we have played a lot of unique golf holes in our golf travels!

Founded in 1889, The Hong Kong Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in all of Asia. The Club has 2 locations, Fanling and Deep Water Bay, and sits high on our list of courses to play. But, due to the Hong Kong Sevens Rugby Championships, tee times on the Fanling Course weren’t available while we were in Hong Kong. But we did have the pleasure to play 18 holes at Deep Water Bay.

You know us, and so you know that just means that we will come back! After all, we have much more Golf in Hong Kong to explore!
